Where does a Funky Ol Girl shop??

Why limit where you can shop just because of your age?? Don't let your age define you and how you dress, just because you are over 60 doesn't mean that you are destined to shop in Millers for the rest of your adult life. Its about knowing where to shop and the right things to buy for your age.

I will happily go into Supre - I will however skip the short demin shorts and go for something a bit more age appropriate such as this awesome black maxi dress - only $20!!

Some shops I love are K-Mart (don't write good old K's off - they've spent millions rebranding and have some great clothes at fantastic prices) Target (make sure you check out hot options for some great beachey style tops), Ally, Big W (did you know Peter Morrissey does a clothing line just for Big W?) Myer including the Miss Shop department, Temt, Valley Girl and Crossroads.
A lot of these places also sell cute sandles and boots at affordable prices too.

One thing I always do is accessorise my outfit - rings, bracelets, earrings, necklackes - anything I can get my hands on. I really do think a fantastic statement necklace or bracelet can take an outfit from drap to fab.

My number one stop for accessories is always Vintage Pip. Vintage Pip is an online local business who sells unique pieces, collections from various jewelers, and she can also do custom one off orders for you too.
Another couple of great stores for accessories is Mombasa & Tree of Life. Make sure if you see these in your local shopping centre to have a look as you never know what you will find.

Most ladies my age are halfway there with their outfits. They'll put on a nice top and pants and that's it - make sure next time you go out you add a necklace or bracelet that tie together the colours you are wearing and watch your outfit turn you into a funky ol girl.

Outfit Of The Day: 20th Jan 14

I am enjoying the summer heat wave that has hit the east coast of Australia - thankfully we are not getting the 40+ degree temperatures that Melbourne & Adelaide are getting though.
I am heading out for dinner tonight with the hubby so the occasion calls for some animal print. Lets hope the restaurant has the A.C pumping!
Today I am wearing:
Top: Boutique from Kogarah, NSW
Shoes: Myer
Earrings: Manly Art Gallery http://www.manlygallery.com.au/
Bracelet: Custom made by Vintage Pip http://www.vintagepip.com.au/

Outfit Of The Day: 14th Jan 14

A colour that I love (and that screams young and fun) to me is PINK - so I have draped myself in it today.
Today I am wearing a fantastic playsuit style dress - these are so fashionable now and they hide a multitude of sins. If you are concerned about it being too low you can always add a cami or singlet underneath.
I've teamed it with some funky heart shoes and a chucky chain necklace from Vintage Pip, and rings and earrings from Tree Of Life.

Outfit Of The Day: 10th Jan 14

Sorry that this update is a little late, my daughter who helps me with this blog decided to be lazy and sleep in and not help her poor mother on her quest for funky fashion for over 60s to be shared with the world hehe

On my shopping spree yesterday I managed to pick up this adorable top which I have teamed with a pair of leggings. Its great to stock your wardrobe with tops like these, oversize tee's are very much in fashion and are super comfortable too. They go great over the top of leggings or even skinny jeans.
I'm heading out to get my nails done today - I get mine done with BioSculpture which doesn't damage my natural nails underneath.

Today I am wearing:
Top: Ally http://www.allyfashion.com/store/
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage Pip http://www.vintagepip.com.au/
Earrings & Rings: Tree Of Life http://www.treeoflife.com.au/
Nails: Kate Kemp Nails Birkdale https://www.facebook.com/katekempnaildesign

Outfit Of The Day: 9th Jan 14

Today I am braving the school holiday crowds and going to Westfields Carindale for some retail therapy.
I have gone for a casual and comfy look today and added some accessories and a colourful bag to make my outfit perfect for strolling around the shops. I love my animal print top - just make sure you choose wisely and don't overdo the animal print as there are some shockers out there.

Today I am wearing:
Shirt: Temt http://temt.com.au/
Pants: K-Mart
Necklace & Earrings: Tree Of Life http://www.treeoflife.com.au/
Bracelet: Vintage Pip http://vintagepip.com.au/
I also added in a pop of blue with my handbag, and my shoes are comfy jelly flats my daughter got for me when she was in Thailand. Have a look at stores like Rubi shoes http://shop.cottonon.com/rubi-shoes/ as they will have similar style shoes there too.

Outfit Of The Day: 8th Jan 2014

Feel like I need a bit of colour today - so I am wearing my favourite colour: BLUE
Blue is the colour of the sky & sea, and is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It is also strongly associated with calmness and tranquility.

Although it is another hot Brisbane day I am braving the heat and heading out for lunch with the girls.  A nice glass of white wine will cool us down :-)
The poncho I am wearing is light so I can still keep cool on a hot day. I love how these colours work so well together, it really is saying "I'm a funky ol girl and I am proud of it"

I am wearing today:
Maxi Dress & Poncho: Valley Girl http://www.valleygirl.com.au/
Shoes: Bare Trap - a boutique you will find in Wynnum QLD
Earrings & Ring: Tree Of Life http://www.treeoflife.com.au/
Bracelet: Custom made by Vintage Pip http://www.vintagepip.com.au/

Hope everyone has a wonderful day xx
